This project: A 9 foot wide shallow dome painted to resemble sky with a wrought iron trellis framing the edges.

This is the ceiling of an elevator vestibule in a private residence. The goal was to create a sense of space by painting a subtle sky with a trompe l'oeil wrought iron trellis along the outside edge. The 2 perched birds were added as an afterthought and really added a surprise element to the formal space.

This project: A 12 foot wide circular ceiling recess in a dining room. The design here was inspired by the "Robert Adam" style, which is historically known for its applied plaster moldings of fan shapes and fabric swags placed against pastel toned backgrounds.

Typically, an Adamesque ceiling is executed in soft pastel colors. In this case, however, my client wished for the ceiling to compliment the fabrics that are found throughout the home. The marriage of the two notions produced a striking result.
